Introduction:
Women’s participation is essential for a vibrant democracy and a more equitable society. Numerous research studies have been conducted on women’s representation in Parliament and Local Government Bodies. However, there is a lacuna in research on the actual representation of women in state assemblies and thus this paper gains relevance in this context. This paper perhaps will explore the relevance of the Women’s Reservation Act, 2023, and study the intersection of socio-political practices and women in politics.
